5 Things To Think About Every Morning When You Wake Up

5 Things To Think About Every Morning When You Wake Up

Typical Monday scenario: you wake up at 6 a.m.,  feeling grumpy and nervous that you have to go to work. You deal again with that tremendous anxiety and lack of the energy and you put yourself in such a bad mood just because it’s Monday and you feel so bored with your routine and your life. Nothing seems to lift your spirit and you feel like you have no reason to get up from bed. Maybe this doesn’t happen to you just on Mondays, maybe it also happens on Tuesdays and Thursdays too. Some of you might wake up like this even on weekends.
Stop for a moment, please stop. Try to control all the negative thoughts, all the worries. Control them and then make them disappear by thinking about one, or two or all of these 5 things immediately after you wake up.

1. You woke up and this simple fact is a miracle! I’m not joking, thousands of people weren’t as lucky as you, they died in their sleep. This might sound cynical, but it’s real. So open your eyes, smile and be grateful because you’ re lucky enough to hear the sound of that annoying alarm clock this morning, too. It’s another day, a great opportunity for a fresh start, for new plans and exciting things to do, besides your daily routine.

2. You have a job. Be grateful for that! There are so many people in the world right now who are unemployed and have no money to buy food, to pay their bills or buy new clothes. All these people struggle to survive and they would give anything to have a job (maybe the job that you hate and feel bored with) , to wake up early in the morning and earn their living. You don’t like the work you’re doing? You don’t feel happy and fulfilled with your activity? Change it, but stop complaining that you feel tired and it’s Monday again so you have to wake up at 6 or 7 am. Stop being a cry baby.  Look around you, see the nice clothes you have, the smartphone that rings the alarm, the pretty house or apartment you live in. All these things don’t buy themselves unless you have a job.

3. Look at yourself and realise you are unique, you are a good looking person. Appreciate the fact that you are healthy. Stop comparing yourself with other people, especially influencers from Instagram or other social media. Most of the pictures you see on social media are not even real. You’d be surprised to see how influencers and instagram models actually look like in real life. You wouldn’t even recognize some of them. Mostbof them use tons of makeup, they undergo surgical procedures and edit their pictures like hell. Be happy with the way you look, smile at yourself in the mirror every morning, dress and behave so that you accentuate the beautiful features you surely have. One of the most valuable things is being yourself, accepting your little deffects and transforming them into assets and being a good person on the inside. This is what truly attracts people and happiness, not a „perfect” body or a pretty face.

4. Think about the special talents or skills you have. Maybe you are a talented writer, or painter. Maybe you can sing or act very well. Maybe you are a fit person who can exercise a lot or run marathons. Maybe you’re good at painting, drawing, or creating beautiful handmade things. Maybe you have a great sense of humour and make all your friends and family laugh.Whatever it is, think about that thing that makes you so special and worthy and try to improve it even more. Practice your skills. Maybe one day you’ll even start a career or develop a business starting from your special talent or hobby.

5. Establish a milestone for the day and reinvent yourself. No matter how tired, depressed or bored you might feel, challenge yourself from the very moment you wake up. If you used to walk 1 km/day, challenge yourself to walk 1,5 km today. Challenge yourself to climb the stairs today, instead of taking the elevator. Think about helping a friend with things he has to do. Try to talk to that rude coleague from work, maybe if you drink a coffee together you’ll realise he’s not actually the bad person you thought he was. Go shopping for your family or for and old relative or neighbour. Buy a new book and challenge yourself to read it in 3 days. Start keeping a daily journal. Buy yourself new clothes that take you out of your confort zone – colours you never wore before, new fabrics, maybe a new brand. Start using makeup. Change the colour of your hair or do a new haircut. Start exercising. Start a diet. Visit a museum in your town. Buy a pet. Buy pot flowers or plant new flowers. Plan a weekend escapade or a citybreak. There are so many new and exciting things you can do everyday.

Challenge yourself to wake up every morning with gratitude, with a smile and a promise to yourself that today is going to be a great day.
